Human RightsAuthorities Uncover Unlicensed Establishment Serving Kratom-Infused Drinks to Minors, Prompting Legal Action and Potential Shop Closure

Upon arrival, authorities discovered around 80 individuals, aged 25 or younger, gathered at a location consuming kratom-infused drinks. Notably, a 12-year-old girl was among them, raising concerns about minors being served in such establishments. The presence of four modified motorcycles hinted at potential connections to unauthorized activities.

Initial investigations revealed that the seller lacked the required distribution licenses for marijuana sales, and drug consumption equipment was found on the premises. Legal action has been initiated against the shop’s supervisor for violating various laws, and the owners of the modified vehicles will also face consequences.

Authorities questioned 20 youths under 18 to understand how they learned about the shop and accessed its services after hours. Information gathered will be shared with the youths’ parents. The working committee overseeing the operation has proposed the closure of the shop, urging provincial authorities to address regulatory violations and protect the well-being of local youth.
