ESGEmirates NBD Launches SustainTech Accelerator: Pioneering Green FinTech Solutions for a Sustainable Future

Emirates NBD, a prominent banking group in the MENAT region, has initiated a sustainability-focused accelerator program called SustainTech Accelerator in the run-up to COP28. This program, supported by Microsoft, invites global Green FinTech companies to collaborate on innovative financing solutions for a climate-resilient future.

Running from September 6 to October 10, 2023, the accelerator aims to assist Green FinTechs in developing tools and solutions that can enhance Emirates NBD’s sustainability performance. These solutions include access to reliable and standardized data, advanced risk management tools, support for transitioning legacy systems to sustainability, navigating complex regulations, and independent verification and certification services.

Shortlisted participants will address four key areas identified by Emirates NBD:

  1. Emission tracking across all scopes to advance sustainability in finance.
  2. Climate risk modeling for improved financial resilience.
  3. Innovative carbon trading for banks.
  4. Advancing ESG risk assessment solutions to promote sustainable business practices.
