PEPsFormer Agriculture Minister Aziz Voitov Arrested for Economic Crimes

Former Minister of Agriculture, Aziz Voitov, has been arrested and is under investigation for economic crimes, as reported by Kun.uz. Born in 1980, Voitov graduated from the Tashkent Financial Institute in 2001 and later pursued studies in Business Management at the Higher Business School in 2010.

Prior to his arrest, Voitov served as the board chairman of SQB JSCB and later became the first deputy minister of investments and foreign trade in March 2020, during the tenure of Sardor Umrzakov as the minister. Subsequently, in August 2022, he was appointed as the minister of agriculture.
