Global full-cycle verification platform Sumsub is bolstering its Travel Rule solution through a partnership with Merkle Science, a predictive Web 3.0 risk and intelligence platform. The Travel Rule, mandated by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), is a crucial compliance requirement in major jurisdictions. By integrating Merkle Science’s wallet monitoring feature, Sumsub aims to enhance transparency and help its digital asset clients trace and identify the source of fund transfers involving various Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs). The collaboration provides an additional verification layer through Sumsub’s AML and anti-fraud products, offering capabilities such as ongoing transaction monitoring and real-time alerts for changes in risk levels. The partnership simplifies compliance processes, aiding in the identification of illicit activity by monitoring sanctioned transactions and analyzing fund sources and behavior. The Travel Rule has been integrated into legislation in several Asia-Pacific (APAC) countries, and the partnership addresses the growing need for compliance in the digital asset industry.
