Nasdaq Launches Nasdaq Metrio and eVestment ESG Analytics to Enhance ESG Data Solutions for Corporations and Investors

ESGNasdaq Launches Nasdaq Metrio and eVestment ESG Analytics to Enhance ESG Data Solutions for Corporations and Investors

Nasdaq, a leading capital markets technology firm, has introduced two innovative ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data offerings tailored for both corporate entities and investors. These new products, Nasdaq Metrio and eVestment ESG Analytics, are designed to enhance sustainability data collection, measurement, and reporting capabilities.

The launch of these ESG offerings responds to the growing demand for greater transparency and accountability in sustainability practices. As corporate social responsibility and ethical investing gain prominence, Nasdaq aims to address this increasing need with its latest offerings.

Nasdaq is renowned for its technology-driven solutions in the fields of trading, clearing, exchange technology, and public company services. It plays a crucial role in capital markets, providing services that streamline operations for corporations, regulators, and investors.

Nasdaq Metrio is the result of merging Nasdaq’s ESG data management solution, OneReport, with technologies from Metrio, an ESG reporting software provider based in Montreal, which was acquired by Nasdaq last year. This platform is intended to assist corporations in the collection, measurement, and disclosure of investor-grade, audited ESG data. It also aids businesses in navigating ESG frameworks and sharing relevant information with rating agencies, auditors, investors, and other stakeholders. Notably, the platform includes an innovative carbon accounting and management tool, enabling companies to effectively manage scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data.

eVestment ESG Analytics, on the other hand, assists asset managers in quantifying and communicating the ESG impact of their portfolios. It enables asset owners to assess asset managers’ policies in relation to investment outcomes, ensuring alignment with ESG investment policies. The offering utilizes algorithms and data sourced from ESG providers, including Matter, a Nasdaq Ventures portfolio company based in Copenhagen.

These new ESG data offerings by Nasdaq are expected to play a significant role in advancing transparency, accountability, and responsible investing practices in the corporate and financial sectors.
